Update, 11/05/2020: Hey everybody! I just wanted you to know that I have an adopter lined up and, if all goes as planned, will be going to their home soon! Please do look at Mickaboo`s other available Poicephalus. I made my foster dad promise that he`d help get their information updated soon. Thanks!

I have my own Facebook page now, which I share with other Mickaboo Poicephalus. Come visit us there!

Hi! My name is Erin, and I`m a Meyer`s Parrot. I`m very calm, gentle, friendly, and like people a lot.

I was found flying around outside in the wild! Because I`m the most civilized Meyer`s parrot around, it was hard to be outside in the cold, without healthy food. I flew up to a stranger eating tortilla chips on his deck. He could tell that I was out of my element and rescued me. Yes, I did get some tortilla chips out of the deal -- not the best food for a parrot, but I was hungry!

I can talk! I say "How ya doing?", "Good morning," and make kissing sounds. I especially like to talk in the morning when everyone is eating breakfast.

I love to eat lots of fresh veggies, fruit, and pellets. I`m what they call a dunker, which means I like to moisten my pellets in my water dish. All this means for you is that you`ll need to freshen my water more frequently.

Like most parrot-type birds, I may bite and can make some noise. A little positive reinforcement of the step-up/step-down protocols and paying attention when you interact with me will go a long way towards keeping me well-behaved. I like people and want to fit into my household, though I need my human companions to meet me partway.

I`m happiest when people spend time with me and will need lots of attention from my adopter. I may be gorgeous, healthy, friendly, and chatty, but I do need my fair share of people-time. Do you have time for a friend like me?
