Hi, I`m Buffy. I came to Mickaboo via SFACC with a couple of other budgies. I can fly a bit, almost all the way across the room even though I might fall short of landing on my cage, I`m not very good at steering, I guess. I hang with my foster mom while she works from home. When I get antsy and pace my small cage, my foster mom opens the cage door and I will just sit in the doorway and chill. I do like millet, though, so if you want me to come to you that`s the key! I need someone who is patient with a little budgie who`s working on being brave...Maybe you and I would suit each other?
In nature, parakeets (budgerigars) live in large flocks. A single bird in a cage spends much of his/her life being lonely because humans have things they must do that take them away. We therefore will only adopt a single parakeet to a household if there is already at least one parakeet living there. Otherwise, parakeets must be adopted in groups of two or more.
