Hello! I`m Chile. I`m a not-quite-year-old bright yellow budgie with some dark black markings and a green patch on my belly. I came to Mickaboo in September 2020 from a huge aviary rescue. I was treated for mites when I first came in. I`m healthy and have no behavior problems! I am a chirpy, happy guy who likes to fly around my room. I am calm & easy-going and I like to swing and play on my boing. Since I`m currently living alone because my fellow budgie got adopted, I chirp a lot to my mirror. I`m waiting for more foster budgies to show up but I`d MUCH rather come to join YOUR forever flock! I am on a meal-feeding schedule of Nutri-An cakes & pellets in the morning, and greens with pellets in the evening. I like veggies, greens & fruit. I don`t quite step up yet, but he will take a pellet from my foster mom`s hand and I am not afraid of people. I can totally be tamed if you take the time!
In nature, parakeets (budgerigars) live in large flocks. A single bird in a cage spends much of his/her life being lonely because humans have things they must do that take them away. We therefore will only adopt a single parakeet to a household if there is already at least one parakeet living there. Otherwise, parakeets must be adopted in groups of two or more.
