Hi, I`m Spinach! I came to Mickaboo from a huge aviary rescue, over 50 budgies all at once! I am white with a little grey, and so`s my sibling Artichoke. We look like twins and we like to hang out together. We`re becoming interested in what our foster Mom is up to. Broccoli and I like to watch her to make sure she is feeding us properly! We are still shy, but slowly becoming more brave and curious. The bowling ball toy in our cage is a favorite! A lot of us fosters have been in this foster home for 2 weeks now, and we are settling in very well. We are good eaters, and share our bowl without too much quibbling. We like greens - various types of lettuce, parsley and fresh carrot tops. We are learning about the toys in our house. We have a pair of swings, and mom saw that we can actually swing in unison. We have a boing perch that is fun to run up and down, and we use it to swing ourselves over to a other toys. We also love the set of rings to climb through. Wouldn`t you like to adopt a couple of matching little baby budgies?

In nature, parakeets (budgerigars) live in large flocks. A single bird in a cage spends much of his/her life being lonely because humans have things they must do that take them away. We therefore will only adopt a single parakeet to a household if there is already at least one parakeet living there. Otherwise, parakeets must be adopted in groups of two or more.
