Hi, I`m Shadow. I was surrendered with my pals by someone who couldn`t take care of us anymore. We are definitely a flock and need to stay together. We rely on each other, and even though there are multiple food bowls in our cage, we all eat together at a large food tray. Watching us maneuver for space on that one tray is daily entertainment for our foster family! We came to Mickaboo eating only seed (boo!) and have made a full transition to pellets! We love broccoli, spinach, celery, brussels sprouts, carrot strips, strawberries & pineapple. We have ignored the bath bowl but mostly enjoy spritzes with the spray bottle.

I`m not the bravest budgie in this flock, and I won`t step up, but I will let you cup me gently in your hands to return me to the cage after play time. I am mostly bonded with Cloud, and wherever I go, she goes!

I am the most talented singer of this bunch. I am quick to pick up new sounds and I`ve picked up all the quirky little noises and beeps made by the other budgies. I am fine with dogs who don`t get too close and who scavenge the seeds scattered around our cage.

Our little flock would love a forever home together - might you be able to bring us home? I promise we`ll keep you entertained!

In nature, parakeets (budgerigars) live in large flocks. A single bird in a cage spends much of his/her life being lonely because humans have things they must do that take them away. We therefore will only adopt a single parakeet to a household if there is already at least one parakeet living there. Otherwise, parakeets must be adopted in groups of two or more.
