GlobalGiving Matching Campaign Helps - A Little at a Time

Last update: April 8, 2017, 8:56 amYolo Grey

Our collective efforts resulted in $4,298 raised. THANK YOU!  That's about 3 days' worth of our veterinary expenses.  Many many thanks from Yolo Grey (pictured here), the rest of our 500+ rescued birds in our foster flock, and our many dedicated volunteers.  Your help makes all the difference to their lives.

Meant to donate, and time slipped by you?  Our vet bills are constantly coming in, so your ongoing donations are very welcome!  Give online at paypal.me/Mickaboo OR via check to Mickaboo, PO Box 697, San Jose, CA  95106.

We cannot say it enough - Thank You!

Update: April 6, 2017, 10:00 pm

Our fundraising total is now $3822, thanks to the financial support of 34 wonderful people.  But wait - there is still $2900 in matching funds left!  The matching ends tomorrow, Friday, April 7 at 9 pm PT ($50 per donor matched at 50%).  Won't you help us reach our $5000 fundraising goal?

Your donations help fuel our all-volunteer organization; learn about our volunteers and their commitment to our rescue flock in our just-published April 2017 newsletter.  Ready to help fund our ongoing work?  Give here - and know that your gift will be much appreciated by our volunteers and the 500+ beautiful, intelligent, and loving birds in our care.

Update: April 5, 2017, 11:22 pm

We now have raised $2500 thanks to your generosity; that amount pays for about 2 *days* of veterinary care!  There is still $11K in matching funds left - consider giving now before funds run out, and make your gift go 50% further.

We have just published our April newsletter - check out the birds needing new homes, our Featured Volunteer - and a "help wanted" ad for a very special adoption fair volunteer.

Thank you for all your support, now and into the future.

Update: April 4, 2017, 9:34 pm

Our fundraising total is now at $2200, a tad less than half of our $5,000 fundraising goal. MANY thanks to the 27 champions of our rescued birds who have given so far!

Yolo Grey (YG) continues to settle in with his foster family.  Here we picture him enjoying corn on the cob while surveilling his new kingdom.  YG had a vet check today - we'll let you know what we find out from that!

Please help us continue to help birds like YG.  Matching funds still remain!  This week-long event matches 50% up to $50 (fifty).  Head to this donation site to give.

Update: April 4, 2017, 12:09 AM

We have collectively raised $1,900 so far toward our $5,000 fundraising goal.  Great progress - thank you!  Want to help us reach our goal?  Tell your friends and family about this matching gift opportunity and how it helps sooo many needy birds - including Yolo Grey!

Thanks to your continued support, we have been able to continue our work of rescuing, rehabilitating, and re-homing companion birds. This year marks our TWENTIETH anniversary as an all-volunteer organization - can you believe it?!

YOUR donations and the work of our many dedicated volunteers are what make Mickaboo work for our birds, day in and day out. Our flock of waiting-for-adoption rescued birds numbers over 500! Your donation this week to keep the miracle going can go further– a matching gift event is underway NOW. From April 3, 6 am - April 7, 9 pm PT, GlobalGiving will match your online donations at 50%, up to $50 per donor per project, until GlobalGiving has given away $50,000 of matching funds for all of its projects. Go to Mickaboo's GlobalGiving page to take advantage of this opportunity, and help us reach our fundraising goal for this event of $5,000!

Your donations help birds like Yolo Grey ("YG"). A shelter asked Mickaboo to take YG as she was in a too-small cage, in a shelter more suited to dogs and cats.  Volunteers arranged a three-part "birdie train" over two days to transport her 125 miles to her foster home. YG has settled in nicely with her enthusiastic foster family. Mickaboo is actively looking for the human who may have lost her, before we proceed with finding her a new adoptive home.

YG speaks English words in a woman's voice.  She appears to be in excellent health. We'll be taking her in for a veterinary check-up to be sure.

Would you consider taking advantage of this matching gift opportunity to help us help YG and other birds?  We hope you will, and will consider spreading the word to the bird-lovers in your social circles!

Watch this space or Mickaboo's Facebook page throughout the week to hear how we are doing against our goal.  THANK YOU for your generosity!
